Good morning WeeSean,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how your eye screening appointment went.

I am pleased to hear that Brigeen was professional, courteous and friendly in her dealings with you and I am sure she will be delighted to hear that the work she does is appreciated.

The move to two-yearly screening intervals is for people with diabetes who are at low risk of sight loss and has been implemented across the whole of the NHS. Two-yearly screening intervals have been in place for many years in some Nordic countries (notably Iceland and Sweden), and evidence has shown it is safe to increase the time between screenings for those with no evidence of retinopathy.

Best wishes

Michael
