"Returning to the UK with a medical condition"

About: Plympton Medical Practice

(as the patient),

I was living overseas for 8 years and in 2018 was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in my mid-50s. I returned to the UK last year and returned to the Plympton medical centre in Plymouth, although I then spent 3 months in another area looking after my aging mother with dementia.

My medication list from overseas was given to the Plymouth practice and was set up quite easily. I was then transferred to a pharmacy closer to me. The whole process was managed quite easily and although there were a few problems with the prescription, this was sorted out through telephone calls with call backs never a problem.

I haven’t needed to see a doctor as yet but I am happy with the transition and particularly that the people I have dealt with have always been willing and able to help

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re really pleased to hear that your transition back to the UK and to our Plympton Medical Centre went smoothly, and that our team was able to support you with setting up your medication and resolving your prescription queries quickly.

It’s especially good to know that our staff were helpful and responsive during what sounds like a very busy and demanding time for you, particularly while caring for your mother. Your feedback is appreciated.

Kind Regards

The Beacon Medical Group
