I recently suffered a suspected broken elbow. I went to minor injuries unit and after about an hour's wait I was seen, had an x-ray and advised about next steps. The care I received was responsive and efficient.
On the next working day I received a copy of clinical letter after my case had been reviewed by orthopaedic consultant. This explained what injury I had sustained, gave advice about next steps and also offered me an appointment at orthopaedic unit two weeks later.
I attended NGH for the appointment. I was impressed with the new facilities and very helpful reception staff. The wait was short and I was seen by a registrar. Again the care and advice I received was exemplary.
I was referred for physio and rather than having to wait for an appointment I was seen about 15 mins later. I received further helpful advice. I now feel able to manage recovery on my own.
I was so impressed with the efficiency and care of the pathway and that all of the staff I had contact were friendly, caring and professional.
The whole experience of contact with NHS was positive. I wanted to say this as far too often the only comments about NHS seem to be critical
"I was so impressed with the efficiency and care"
