"Just a few concerns during the 'fasting' stage"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Endoscopy Tiverton and District Hospital / Endoscopy Diagnostic Unit

(as the patient),

Procedure was successful with no medical problems. All staff were helpful and inspired confidence.

My concern was during the 'fasting' stage. It seemed odd that telephone no was for Exeter when my appointment was with Tiverton.  The fasting started at 1800 and finished at 0500. Numbers given were not available at these times.

Clear fluids were specified for both doses of laxative but doses of 500 and 1000ml were given - confusing.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your experience within Endoscopy.

I apologise that you were unable to get any advice during those times - we do have proposed plans to change this so we are able to provide 24/7 advice.

As our Unit in Tiverton forms part of the Trust our numbers do have an Exeter dialling code which I appreciate can be confusing.

In regards to the differing information surrounding volumes of clear fluid to be consumed, this should have been explained during your pre-assessment appointment, apologies if this was overlooked.

However, I am pleased to hear that your procedure was successful and that you found staff to be helpful.
