"Excellent support for neurodivergent child"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Play Service

(as a parent/guardian),

Our child was referred for an ECG and was anxious about the procedure, particularly due to a strong dislike of adhesive stickers. We shared this information in advance with the GRAM Play service at ARI.

Denise provided excellent support; she was understanding, reassuring, and took the time to explain the ECG in a child-friendly way. She helped our son understand that the procedure would be quick and painless, and she introduced the use of stickers in a way that made him comfortable with the process.

We were sure our son wouldn't allow the process, but we were delighted that he was convinced and did it. Thanks to the entire team and Denise in particular.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on the experience you and your child recently had at the hospital and that is was a positive visit.

It was a pleasure to discuss your Childs needs with you prior to the appointment and to form a plan to assist on the day.

Denise will be delighted to receive your feedback and to know how much you appreciated her support and expertise. Denise is a experience and valued Play Specialist and is skilled in helping empower patients to overcome some of the challenges they face.

Kind regards

Heather Beattie
