"I very much appreciated the helpfulness of the staff"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Primary Care Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

I phoned NHS 24 on morning of 26 December.  I live in the Clydesdale area of Lanarkshire Scotland.  Call was in connection with not being able to control difficult asthma symptoms with my usual inhaler.

My experience speaking with, call handler, a nurse and then a GP was very good.  A prescription was ready for collection at a chemist in Carluke by the afternoon.  I very much appreciated the helpfulness of the staff involved.

Good afternoon Hope for 2026.

I am sorry to hear you were unwell with difficult to control asthma symptoms on Boxing day. Thank you for taking the time to post about your positive experience when you were assessed by a clinician from the Primary Care Service based at Douglas Street, Hamilton.

I will pass on your lovely comments to the team who will be delighted that the care given was gratefully received.

I hope your asthma is now under control and you are feeling better.

Take care, Pamela.

Dear Hope for 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion.

I am replying on behalf of NHS 24, and I am pleased to read about your positive patient journey. It is reassuring to hear that the care you received from the 111 service, the Out of Hours GP, and the Pharmacy was helpful.
