"A waste of time and facilities"

I was disappointed because the length of time taken before I was seen by a consultant was such that the problem had healed itself.

My GP referred me for cauterisation in my nose to prevent nose bleeds, and when he did so he implied that I would be seen quite quickly..

In the meantime, he gave me some ointment which helped. However, the consultant said that there was no point in cauterisation.

A complete waste of my time, the consultant’s and an opportunity for someone whom the consultant might have been able to help.

I think someone who knows what care is needed, or likely to be needed, should monitor cases to ensure that time and facilities aren’t wasted.

I might add that the consultant was brilliant and inspired me with confidence! It is the system about which I am complaining.
