"The amazing care my mum received"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Major Trauma Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

At approx 0315 one morning my mum had a fall.

On dialling 999 the ambulance arrived within 10 minutes, the 2 paramedics were great with how they tended to my mum.

Unfortunately the fall was worse than anticipated and she was taken to R.I.E., after tests etc it turns out that she has 4 cracked/broken ribs (6-10), puncture to her lung, fluid around her heart and lungs with an infection to boot.

We are now a week in Major Trauma Ward with more time to go, the care and attention has been 2nd to none. From nurses attending daily (all shifts), pain relief teams, doctors, all involved. I have to commend each and every one of you for the support you have shared with my family at what's been quite a difficult time, it has been appreciated

Thank you all.

Thankyou for taking the time to acknowledge the care your mum is receiving whilst going through such a stressful and difficult time.

Its always refreshing to receive positive feedback and the nurses appreciate when their care and compassion is recognised so I will ensure this is passed on to the team.

Major Trauma Ward will continue to care and support your mum during her road to recovery.

Kind Regards

Nicola Mason

Hi Galaxy girl,

I'm really sorry to hear about your mum's recent fall. That sounds like a really bad one and I hope your mum is doing ok.

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about the NHS staff who helped care for your mum, particularly those from the Scottish Ambulance Service. With all that is going on, it is really nice of you to take the time to say thank you.

I'm pleased to hear that our crews arrived quickly and were so great with your mum.

Take care,

Mark
