"The care was excellent"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I spent 2 weeks in Cloughreagh House and this included Christmas. I found it very homely and the staff made every effort to make Christmas special for the residents, we had a lovely Christmas dinner and a good sing song , the tables were set beautifully and the staff were all in a jolly Christmas mood.

I have been treated very well here , the care was excellent, all the staff were so helpful and always available to help if you needed them. It was like a hotel service with clean towels every day. Everything was so clean and tidy , its a credit to the cleaning team.

The food was lovely, served fresh and nice and hot, there was a good variety  and everyone was catered for.

My bedroom was small with only one chair. I think it would be a good idea to have a foldable lightweight chair in all the bedrooms for visitors to use rather than sitting on the bed.

Overall it is a lovely rehabilitation centre, definitely fit for purpose.  It is reassuring for me to have the community stroke team planning follow up visits when I get home.

I have really enjoyed my time here in Cloughreagh house and I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I needed to.

Thank you for the lovely comments you have posted on Care Opinion and I am very happy to note that you enjoyed your Christmas here.

At Christmas we all want to be at home with family but circumstances dictate this and it is not always possible. I am glad that you enjoyed your Christmas here in Cloughreagh House, the staff do try their best to have a festive atmosphere in the house and make it a special time for our residents.

Thank you for your suggestion about the folding chair for visitors, we will discuss it and make a decision.

Thank you again for your positive feedback, I will share this with the staff. I would also like to take the opportunity to wish you continued improvement now you have discharged home.

Kind Regards

Stephanie Campbell
