My son has been attending the hand clinic at the ulster for a year. Janet has provided theeee most person centred care to genuinely give my son back his future. Janet's clear and vast knowledge, skills and experience gave us confidence from the very first time we met her, when my son and us as parents were feeling very vulnerable, anxious and afraid of what recovery might be. Janet was very honest but was also calm and hopeful of what could be. She kept my son calm, went slow but steady, used humour and personality to engage our son in all the rehab exercises and reviews along the way... with many amazing casts and supports she made for him, in every shape/colour going.
He was discharged last week, although we are sad to leave and not have the reassurance of no longer seeing Janet but we are forever grateful to have had her support and care. There is no way my son would have had the recovery to date and be able to return to work, as was his ultimate goal, without the consistency, kindness and phenomenal OT support that Janet gave him. Janet will always have a special place in our memories and in our hearts. She's fab.
