"My stay in ITU"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / High Dependency Unit & Intensive Care Unit

(as the patient),

Over the summer I was unwell and required care in ITU for a number of weeks. During this time I would jut like to comment on how well I was treated by the staff there. The doctors, nurses (I think I was under the care of the red team maybe?) and healthcare support workers were all brilliant. The care and compassion that they showed me and my family had such a positive impact on my time in hospital and it is something that I will always be grateful for.

Words cannot fully convey how much I appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and dedication you all showed me during what was undoubtedly one of the most challenging times in my life.

I would also like to thank my physios, Erin and Emmett and my speech and language therapist, Rachel. The input they had in my care made such a difference to my time in hospital.

I am incredibly thankful to each one of you, for always explaining things clearly and for going above and beyond to ensure I was as comfortable and supported as possible, you truly make a difference, and I will never forget the care you gave.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Your kind words will mean a great deal to our team and it's lovely to hear that you were treated with kindness, compassion and professionalism whilst under our care.

Providing high standards of care to our patients, making them feel safe and supporting those closest to them is so important to us as a multidisciplinary team, and it's so nice that you've mentioned all of the different teams.

I will share your feedback with the wider team and with Erin, Emmet & Rachel too.

We wish you all the very best with your recovery and hope you have a lovely festive period.

Thanks again for thinking of us and taking time to share your experience.

Kindest Regards,

Marie
