I gave birth to my daughter four months ago on the Labour Ward at RIE. During my pregnancy I suffered with hyperemesis, which led to several hospital admissions, including one on my birthday when the midwives and staff made me feel incredibly cared for.
The triage team were always welcoming and kind, even when clearly very busy. I was well looked after on Ward 119 and at day assessment for months while being treated for HG. I was induced at 36 weeks and had a really positive experience – everything was explained clearly and I always felt cared for.
I just wanted to say thank you. People are quick to share negative experiences, but the care I received was consistently amazing. You looked after me, my baby and made my family feel welcome, especially my son during a difficult time. The antenatal, birth and postnatal teams were all wonderful, and my little one is doing great.
