About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns (wards 45, 47, 48 & 49)

(as the patient),

I had BCC removed from my scalp by Plastics Dept at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in early November.

I now don't have an appointment with consultant till beginning of February 2026. Is there any way I can find out if this is how long results are taking, or is there anyway I can find out sooner as obviously it's a worry?

Hi

Thank you for contacting the service through Care Opinion. Sorry you feel it is a long wait for your results. There is a delay in pathology results so an appointment in February is realistic time frame.

If you wish to see if an slightly earlier appointment is available I would suggest contacting your Consultants secretary via switchboard 211 4000 but it may be that you will be advised that your pathology results may not be available any earlier.

If you have questions I would direct you initially as above, and if they are unable to help they may be able at least give you further information
