"Never underestimate how much this means to patients"

About: The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I just wanted to record my thanks to the full team in ward 56 at GRI.

I had debulking surgery for aggressive cancer. My surgical team were amazing and fought very hard to remove all my disease.  I can’t thank Dr Kent, Dr Park and Andy enough.

My anaesthetist, Jenny was wonderful and really put me at ease even though we had a few issues with my spine. Jenny was also the first face I saw when I came round, I knew instantly where I was and that I was in good hands.

The full nursing team and domestics on the ward are exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble during round the clock care. They really made a frightening time so much easier.

I have a huge list of names that provided a gold standard of care and are a credit to the ward and NHS as a whole.

Thank you again for all of your hard work, never underestimate how much this means to patients.

Dear ElevenN

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such thoughtful and heartfelt feedback. We are truly grateful to hear about your experience on Ward 56 at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and we will ensure your comments are passed on to the whole team.

Your kind words for the surgical team, including Dr Kent, Dr Park and Andy, as well as your acknowledgement of the care provided by your anaesthetist, Jenny, will mean a great deal to them. Knowing that their skill, dedication and reassurance made such a difference during such a challenging time is deeply appreciated.

We are also delighted to hear that the nursing and domestic teams helped make your stay more comfortable and supported you throughout your recovery. They work incredibly hard, day and night, and your recognition of their compassion and professionalism will be warmly received.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your gratitude. Feedback like yours reminds our teams how much their work matters to the people they care for, and it is genuinely valued.

We wish you all the very best in your ongoing recovery.

Kind regards

Kevin
