"Women's health counselling-a very important service"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Neonatal Unit

(as a service user),

I had a one off counselling session to discuss my decision about my pregnancy. I asked if we could meet over video rather than face to face and that was arranged which I was grateful for, as I don't drive and the hospital is over an hour on public transport.

I didn't know what to expect going into the session, I figured I already understood the repercussions of termination or having a baby, so I wasn't sure if I would find it beneficial. However I found the session to be helpful, and the counsellor Julie did a great job of understanding the full picture in a short space of time, and was very friendly and understandable. I felt comfortable having such a personal and sensitive conversation with her straight away.

I was asked the right questions for me to consider my options and think on after our session. I still have not fully decided, but I feel better equipped to tackle this choice.

A very important service.
