I was recently in for elective surgery. All the staff throughout the day were very friendly and extremely professional. I was very happy with my procedure and how I was treated. Although I wasn’t taken down to theatre till after 1 o’clock, I always felt I was looked after and most of the staff knew what was going on.
My only observation was my lunch was served to me before I went for my surgery and it was only when I informed the staff, I hadn’t been to surgery, they took my lunch away. I feel this shouldn’t have happened if the staff had been correctly informed.
The staff nurse was excellent, he explained all that was going to happen whilst ensuring all my personal details were correct and I was ready to go for surgery. Furthermore, he was explaining all aspects to a new exchange nurse. She was very professional, positive and displayed a good knowledge. Commendable. All the Theatre staff I saw were also very friendly and professional.
Once back on the ward, yet again, I was treated with the same friendly and professional attitude.
Although, I have singled out the 2 personnel above for their excellent nursing and care, I can honestly say all the staff are a credit to the NHS and Ward 7 at PRI.
Thank you
"The care I received from the staff"
