"The staff were amazing"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Radiology Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23)

(as the patient),

I was contacted by my physio and told to attend the TAU ASAP and that they were aware of me attending. I arrived at 2:30pm, was told to wait in the waiting room. I was then sent for an X-ray at 15:20.

On return from X-ray at 16:10 was told to wait again in the waiting room. At this point I still had no idea why I was at hospital, just that it was something to do with my MRI scan.

Tony came and got me at 5pm, he explained to me that my scan had shown an infection in my spine. I was needing blood and cultures and would be admitted. He told me they had a side room for me in ward 23.

I advised Tony I haven’t drank anything so he gave me 2 cups of water. Lindsay came and got the bloods. Both Tony and Lindsay were amazing. They were friendly and made me feel at ease.

Lindsay advised at 21:30 the room in ward 23 had still not been cleaned but they had a flow room. Lindsay said she had raised with the bed manager that it was inappropriate for me due to the back issues. She was advocating for me. I really appreciated her efforts even if they did fall on deaf ears.

The TAU was warm, and clean. The staff were amazing.
