"Not feeling listened to in ED"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department - Paediatric

(as a service user),

Son unwell, moderate history of asthma and allergies, previous stridor episodes. unwell for 6 days and new increased work of breathing, tried normal meds at home with no resolve.

Presented to ED CAH (end of November) had to buzz door 3 times to get access. A clinician sitting at computer, used derogatory tone to tell me how to check in.

waited for 2 hrs (in a relatively quiet paed dept)  Dr seen 1 patient during this time-  at almost 8am I asked the 2 nurses if they had any idea how long it would take to be seen and explained that I was the carer for 2 elderly parents at home who were relying on me to return.
both nurses tone was cheeky and unprofessional, advised me that the Dr is covering the whole of the ED dept- having worked in ED before I am aware how it works.
I found the clinician we spoke to extremely unhelpful- as a health care professional who  works within the NHS I was very frustrated and felt belittled as their questions and clinical assessment of my child was not ideal.
I explained my sons history and advised what normally is required to settle the issue.
I asked could they go chat with someone more senior and they advised me they had spoken to the consultant
They went on to till me there was nothing wrong with my son and that I panicked at home! Then explained that his tonsils were normal (we were not there because of an issue with his tonsils) son was swabbed and tested positive for flu- all his symptoms were then attributed to this.
Yes I agree that he may have flu which in turn exacerbated his asthma symptoms. understandably I left the dept very upset and felt I was not listened and more importantly nothing was done for my son.
after leaving the dept and no improvement several hours later I then had to contact OOO who very efficiently delt with my concerns and prescribed appropriate treatment.
I am concerned as a health professional and most importantly as a parent with - how I was spoken to, how my concerns re my son was dismissed and would hope in the future that this would not happen to anyone else.
by no means was or am I requesting special consideration as I work for the NHS, but listening to a concerned parent and having some
