"Great experience with hysterectomy"

I wanted to extend my thanks to all of the staff at the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy there recently and what should have felt like major trauma, in theory, was actually an incredibly positive experience. I think I even had fun and enjoyed the novelty??

The surgical team were fantastic, just the right level of reassuring and relaxed despite the complex work they've performed, which appealed to my sense of humour (Dr Ch. answered all of my morbid questions about the procedure with glee!) The nursing staff at Ward 203 were incredibly kind and competent. Special shout out to night shift nurse Ann who managed to make the blood-thinner jabs into my legs feel like the tiniest scratch, and nurse Leonna who made removing a catheter a total non-event even though I thought it would be super weird. You're all incredible people, thanks very much!

I'm now home and recovering pretty well so far, thank you for taking such good care of me!
