"The team were absolutely excellent"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Cardiology Royal Alexandra Hospital / Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

(as the patient),

I had an urgent referral from my GP to cardiology dept RAH  because I was feeling very unwell, anxious about irregular heartbeat. I have a cardiac pacemaker and felt something was wrong.

I was seen by the cardiac ambulatory care unit. The team including the phlebotomist were absolutely excellent.

This service saved me from a hospital admission ( I had come to A& E at the time of the incident but returned home as there were 7 ambulances waiting outside A&E).

I would particularly like to mention ANP Sarah. She took the time to listen to what had happened and understood my anxieties.

Her caring attitude, attention to detail of my medical history and her knowledge were exemplary.

I now have an updated drug regime which will hopefully prevent me having a cerebral incident.

This is an outstanding service that I am convinced will save admission to hospital and reassure lots of people that suffer from a variety of heart problems.

I sincerely hope that this service will be an ongoing part of patient care.

It elevates the hospital to a new level.
