"The level of care, respect and kindness I received was amazing"

I ended up with two separate stays in the Gynae Ward of Daisy Hill Hospital in November 2025. From the very first member of staff I met on the ward, a Healthcare Assistant, Victoria, to each Nurse, Deputy Sister and Medical Team member I encountered during my stay they were absolutely incredible.

The staff in Gynae go above and beyond and remind you that their job is a vocation. The level of care, respect and kindness I received was amazing. One of the Nurses, Christeena remembered me from a short stay last year and it made me feel like I was returning to somewhere I knew, it felt safe.

The efficiency of the running of the ward is brilliant, as soon as a patient leaves, it is not long until domestic staff are there to do their part in keeping the ward clean and tidy. Staff who serve the food each day are friendly and make sure you have everything you need.

The medical team - what an incredible team. There was time taken to explain what was happening, what my options were and time given for me to make a decision. I made a decision to try and go home and within two days I was back for surgery. The Drs and Consultants ensured I understood everything, gave me time, patience and understanding.

Dr Sloane, Dr Osmun, Dr Kumar along with your full team, thank you so much. I cannot thank each and every person I came across enough. You all deserve so much more than what you get.
