My daughter 18 month old has had multiple instances of viral infections, which always tend to result in her having extremely raspy breathing, and on occasions low sats and effort in her breathing. So in turn, we've had trip after trip to the GP's and A&E since she was 3 months.
I wouldn't say we've had poor care at any step of the way - far from it - but this week I had an experience with a practitioner that just went that step further. My daughter's breathing was causing a lot of worry again; so we were seen by Dr Alani at Glennifer Medical in Barrhead. After treatment at the surgery, we still ended up at A&E. Dr Alani took time to call me later in the week to check how my daughter was doing and how she's gotten on at A&E. She also requested to see her back at surgery later in the week to see if there was more help she could offer.
Sometimes it's just the little things like that phone call that make all the difference. I understand that so many children suffer viral things that don't amount to much, but her extra care and attention made me feel so much more reassured that my worries were valid and that we weren't just another statistic. A big thank you to this caring Doctor.
"So much compassion and care"
