"Personal treatment (subsequent likely fracture)"

About: Bridgwater Community Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as the patient),

Bridgwater's MIU - I arrived at 10:00 and presented my issue to triage, (incredibly painful, swollen, hot wrist). I was told to return at 19:00. I did so, clinician told me - shame you weren’t in earlier, that requires an X-ray  (closes at 17:00), come back tomorrow for an X-ray.

I did, at 10:00, X-ray done by 10:30 and sat back in waiting area, pictures evaluated with clinician at 15:00 (it wasn’t overly busy). Given some codeine for pain relief, and referred to fracture clinic in MPH.

Really poor patient care and consideration, in my opinion.

Additionally the PALS leaflet discourages interaction by being overly wordy and long winded.  Electronic contact is limited.  I can’t help but feel this is deliberate.
