I had two and half days in Worcester Royal Hospital after being taken in when I fainted at home.
The cause was found to be a compacted bowel.
I had very good treatment whilst I was in the Royal but was eager to get home.
Julie came to visit me in hospital from the Hospital at Home team. She explained that the service was to get people home but carry on the hospital level of nursing care in their own home.
I came home that evening.
A carer, part of the District nurse team came the next morning to check on me and carry out blood pressure and basic checks on me.
The next day a fully qualified nurse came, she carried out a medical examination, took blood samples and was able to organise a prescription for me.
This was a very professional check over.
The next two days had qualified nurses attend and monitor me at home.
The service was terminated after 4 days, with my agreement.
I found it reassuring to be able to come home but still have the hospital level support.
