"The support I have received has been above and beyond"

Where I currently live I feel I haven’t had any support after being signed off from the health visitors and midwives a few weeks after giving birth.

Luckily I have built a relationship with Donna  who is the health visitor at Crowle babies first friends group on a Wednesday morning who has supported me through my lows and highs for my metal wellbeing and also has helped me with any questions or worries I have had with my daughter.

Once having my daughter my confidence fell dramatically and my first trip to babies first friends was a very scary moment for me but Donna made me feel welcome and introduced me to other mums and supported me in building my confidence over the last few months.

My daughter has also suffered with extreme colic which affected me  mentally as well as her and Donna supported us in how to feed her and make her more comfortable and after a few weeks we had seen a huge change in my daughter who is now thriving and is a happy little girl.

Donna kindly let me attend other groups that are available at Crowle such as baby massage which I found extremely helpful to build a stronger bond with my daughter as well as helping me get into a routine of going out on my own with her. Once this had finished and the weather turned colder I seemed to lose my confidence again with braving trips alone with my daughter I spoke to Donna about this who encouraged me to continue attending the group on a Wednesday and building this into my routine as well as offering me baby yoga on a Thursday once this started I found myself feeling confident again and making myself leave the house alone with my daughter.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Donna- she truly is a credit to the health visiting team because I truly believe without her I would have suffered with deep postnatal depression. Donna is always available and never makes me feel as though my questions are never silly and even if there is ever a question she is unable to answer she will always point me in the right direction. She truly does go above and beyond.
