I have pretty severe anxiety, as well as some trauma around my healthcare, so medical appointments are very high tension for me. As soon as I walked into the gynaecology clinic in Inverclyde, I was literally immediately greeted by Allison, who invited me to check in and guided to the correct place. Everyone I met while there was warm and welcoming and completely disarming. It was such a surprisingly nice environment, with multiple very kind people. I had to have an unexpected painful procedure and Allison was by my side, literally cheering me on - you’re doing great, you’ve got this, you’re doing such a good job, keep breathing, you’re amazing - and making such a difference. She chatted to help keep me distracted and genuinely made me feel like I had a friend supporting me. I cannot commend her enough.
At the same time, Dr Lamont was an absolute professional and showed both respect for my experience and a tremendous amount of contextual knowledge. She listened to my concerns and took my experience on board instead of just following a script, which is so so huge. I felt heard and respected, but also it was clear how incredibly knowledgeable she was - she gave me plenty of time to ask questions and answered all of them with great detail. She explained everything without making me feel patronised. Just all around I am so appreciative of everyone.
"The loveliest clinic"
