I felt calm and relatively relaxed on arrival (10 mins early) for my appointment for placement of 24hr ECG tapes at Dept of Medical Cardiology.
However, I wasn’t called 35 mins after my appointment time so approached the desk to ask if I’d been forgotten. The Receptionist asked my name and DOB and if I’d checked in on arrival. I had. To them! On arrival they checked my paperwork, handed it back to me and said, take a seat. So, I patiently waited. And waited. No apology from them for delay (I think their mistake, no problem, we all make them!) instead they said, I’ll hurry them along. I was mildly annoyed at their attitude and lack of apology.
A few mins later, a staff member came for me and immediately apologised for the delay. I commented that I’d wondered if I’d been forgotten and she explained she didn’t know I was there. I really appreciated her apology and professionalism, albeit I suspect the delay wasn’t her error. This member of staff carried out the procedure, made me feel at ease and she fully explained everything in a professional, fast and efficient manner. Thank you,
