After attending my GP appointment I was told I had to get bloods taken, as this was my first time, I was extremely nervous and anxious.
The receptionist who booked me in at the drop in clinic for bloods saw how nervous I was and knew exactly who to book me in with and she told me to take a seat. I was then called through and brought to a quiet room by Karen.
She talked me through what was going to happen and could tell I was still nervous but she continuously reassured and got me involved to make sure I understood what was going on.
She got my blood sample which made me feel a bit lightheaded but Karen acted calmly but quickly and laid me down to get the blood back to my head and gave me a glass of water and a cold paper towel on my forehead.
My overall experience of getting my bloods taken for the first time was scary but positive and this is due to the lovely nurse Karen.
"Continuously reassured and got me involved"
