Following initial investigation in A&E I was referred to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit in the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
I was met at reception by Paul who couldn’t have been more helpful and showed me to the waiting area where there was complimentary tea, coffee, etc. After a short wait I was taken into a treatment room where an ultrasound scan was meticulously carried out by Dr Davies, then back to the waiting room and after another short wait I was taken into a consultation room where Paul gave me the most clear and understandable explanation of the results from the scan, illustrating his summary with sketches in felt tip pen on the table top and throwing in a good dollop of humour at the same time.
Thankfully I did not have a Thrombosis and I was free to leave greatly reassured.
The service I received was exemplary, all the staff were wonderful ,Paul in particular.
Thanks to everyone.
