My husband was admitted to ICU in September to recover from surgery after having a large tumour removed. After the initial few days of recovery he was assigned a nurse named Amir. Amir looked after my husband with care respect and compassion. After a particularly bad night Amir arrived for his day shift and upon looking at my husband knew that he wasn’t feeling ok. Within 30 mins Amir had given my husband medication and he began to feel better… dreadful as he had been asking the staff for help for hours but no medication was given.
Amir not only looked after my husband’s care needs but also spoke in depth to him about periods of readjustment when he was discharged. Amir was very aware about not only the mental health of his patients but their families too. He made my husband’s stay more tolerable. We cannot thank Amir enough. The NHS are lucky to have him. he quite simply is a nurse who knows his job and looks after his patients with dignity. Well done Amir you are one in a million.
