This is not my first time on Hollybank Ward. I was warmly welcomed by familiar staff and shown to Bay 4.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable.
The staff obviously enjoy their work and are fully committed to ensuring a safe environment is maintained at all times.
I was given all the necessary information about the Ward whilst my Observations were being taken by my assigned Nurse, Katie.
I was also given the opportunity to ask questions or share any concerns I had about my procedure. We had a few giggles.
The Surgeon soon arrived and again I was treated with respect and felt fully involved in my treatment plan. Again I was encouraged to ask any questions
My admission was for steroid injections in both thumbs. Just a local anaesthetic.
It was a most reassuring experience to be awake during the procedure in Theatre.
The Surgeon and his team worked together like a well oiled machine.
Each professional checking and double checking at every step. Katie stayed by my side and talked me through from start to finish.
Then back to my Bay to be served with coffee and biscuits of my choice.
Hollybank Ward is a shining example of excellence in every aspect of their highly professional care.
Robyn leads her team with confidence and is well respected by all.
The Domestic staff work so hard to achieve such high standards of cleanliness but are never too busy to pop in and say hello or to offer a word of encouragement.
When I was discharged I was given written instructions re: Dressings and a number to call if I needed more advice.
A big thank you to everyone
