"Kindness and support throughout this journey"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Breast care and breast surgery

(as the patient),

During June this year I discovered a lump in my  breast. A mammogram was ordered and off I went to have it done then this lead to a biopsy. After the biopsy I met Karen who is a breast care nurse and she showed such kindness and empathy to me and my daughter. A day later it came back that it was cancer.

After a meeting with the lovely Jenny and an action plan put together for the next 6 weeks I lived my best life. On the day of the operation Jenny was so kind and understanding. The lump was removed and a few weeks later I was started on the hormone tablets. I can not thank Jenny and Karen enough for their kindness and support throughout this journey.

Dear caelumdr96,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am so pleased to hear that, during such a difficult and emotional time, you felt supported by Karen and Jenny. Their kindness, empathy, and professionalism clearly made a meaningful difference to you and your daughter, and it’s heart-warming to know you were cared for so well throughout your journey.

Warmest Wishes

Claire
