"Hernia"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency Pilgrim Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Had an inaugural hernia which became strangulated. I phoned 111 to seek advice about the severe pain and not feeling well. They informed me to go to A&E as a red flag. Arrived at pilgrims where some forms filled out and then had to wait. Shortly went to a side room and waited for doctor. Half hour later doctor arrived asked questions and prodded my hernia . I was informed the surgical team would come and talk to me . A few hours later after speaking to them I was informed a theatre. The explanation of the needles in the Spine was clear and I was made at ease

Hi courageef39,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in what I can only imagine would be a worrying time for you.

I hope you are feeling a lot better and are on the road to recovery.

Take care
