I attended my diabetes outpatient's appointment at Lagan Valley Hospital recently. The staff at the diabetic clinic from the consultant Dr Harding, to the diabetes specialist nurse Kate (and student nurse from QUB on placement, apologies I didn't get her name) and the dietician Danny and student dietician Zoe were so helpful and professional.
Whilst sitting in the clinic waiting area I became unwell very unexpectedly, which was quite stressful for myself and I just wanted to say a huge thank-you to the brilliant treatment room nurses who looked after me and put me at ease. They were so attentive, professional and skilled and made sure I was well enough to leave after my appointment and even got me some tea and biscuits and walked me to the front door. Their quick actions, knowledge, compassion and kind words really helped to diffuse quite an anxiety provoking experience for myself. I felt listened to, valued and that I experienced exceptional care, despite the busy hospital setting.
So thank you to Linda, Catherine, Emma, Alphonsa and student nurse Charlie from QUB, you are all a credit to the nursing profession and the SE Trust and deserve this praise and recognition for the hard work that you do. Kindest regards.
