"Excellent care"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Accident & Emergency Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Clinical Decision Unit

(as a parent/guardian),

I’ve attended A&E 3 times recently with my son who has been vomiting with a high temperature and being very drowsy. I just wanted to thank all the staff in A&E and CDU. Despite being extremely busy and under pressure nothing was too much hassle and every single person approached us with a smile and tried their hardest to find what has been causing my son to be unwell.

We seen countless nurses and doctors during our visits and every single one of them were amazing with not only him but myself and his dad. I wanted them to know how much we appreciate them and how amazing they are despite being so stretched and under pressure. Nothing was too much for any of them and I’m in awe of how hard they work for each patient they see.

Thank you so much for everything, my son isn’t much better but I’m more confident caring for him after talking with nurses and doctors and them reassuring me that although he’s unwell, he’s showing good signs too. You are all superstars and I hope you never lose the drive to deliver the amazing care you do.

Good evening,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback and your kind words.

I am sorry to hear that your son isn’t much better yet. I understand how worrying it can be when your child is unwell and I am glad as a team we were able to reassure you so you felt more confident.

As a team we are very grateful to you could share your positive experience within both our ED and CDU departments.

I will ensure that both departments see your kind words. The team will be delighted.

We wish your son a speedy recovery.

Lorna Aitken
