"Helped me understand my anxiety"

About: Talking Therapies Rotherham

(as a service user),

I first contacted the mental health team in June of this year with for me quiet bad anxiety I initially spoke to a wonderful lady named Anne who helped me understand my anxiety and how to deal with it when it gets bad and how to help control the anxiety before it gets bad she also then referred me to the employment team where I spoke to a wonderful lady named Sam she really helped me with sorting my CV out and preparing for interview and help to control my anxiety and use it to my advantage that sometimes a little anxiety controlled well can be a good thing shows you care and you really want it. While I am know learning my anxiety will probably always be there with the help of these wonderful people I am learning how to cope with it and make my life better and for this I can’t thank them enough.

Good afternoon Titanic1989,

It's really nice to meet you, I'm the Clinical Lead of the Rotherham Talking Therapies service. My name is Faye. I really appreciate you writing such a detailed piece of feedback about your journey with us!

I'm so pleased that you were able to access our employment support service alongside having therapy for your anxiety symptoms, job-related issues can have a big impact on our mental health (and vice versa!) and it sounds like it's worked really well for you to have employment support sessions with Sam alongside the work you've been doing with Anne. I love your perspective that a little bit of anxiety can be a good thing in some circumstances! And you're completely right in saying that anxiety will always be there, and it's about learning how to manage it. It sounds like you've been doing an amazing job of that.

I've emailed your story to Anne and Sam, and I would imagine it will make their week to see such lovely words. As brilliant as they both are at what they do, I know they would say that it's your own hard work and dedication in sessions that has led to such a positive outcome. Thank you so much for your time, and I wish you the very best.

Kindest regards,

Faye

Clinical Lead
