My mum was taken into the emergency department after falling, my mum suffers from Alzheimer’s and so this was a very difficult and stressful time my mum not being in her own surroundings.
All staff were visibly under a lot of stress the ward was very busy but all staff were very attentive, friendly and kind. In particular an auxiliary nurse Amy who went above and beyond for my mum she was compassionate, kind and helpful, I told Amy that my mum was upset she was missing her surroundings and that she would normally be watching her programmes on her tv at this time, Amy then went out of her way to find a spare laptop and put on my mums programmes on through the laptop with my mum having Alzheimer’s this made such a huge difference for my mums experience in the emergency department.
It might not have seemed like a big deal but to us it was and I appreciate her thoughtfulness and kindness.
