"Dire straits for dystonia patients"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Neurology Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Outpatients

(as a relative),

Since 2019 there have been ongoing delays to botox injections at the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital for patients with cervical dystonia.

Treatment should be every 10 weeks, but appears to be up to every 21 weeks if you're lucky.

Doesn't matter if you're in constant pain or under extreme stress by not knowing when your next appointment will be.

No point phoning the appointments line, they were so flippant and rude with no bedside manner whatsoever.

No point complaining to PALS - it's not confidential, as we found out.

I also believe the hospital lied on a FOI request saying that there were 4 injectors (there's only 1!) and that there are no current delays to regular injections, so why was my partners last appointment 10 weeks late?

Other hospital trusts across the country don’t have delays according to multiple FOI requests, so why is it so bad at the RD&E? Oh yes, I forgot, they’ve been training new injectors for six years that's why!
