"I can't thank them enough"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Older Adult Medicine (Wards 51, 54 and 55)

(as a relative),

My mum is in her 80s and was admitted with deep dehydration, delirium and pain (she has progressed cancer). Over the next 7-8 weeks mum went from being unconscious , scared, barely eating or drinking and in lots of pain to  generally pain free (in the main), alert and chatty and amazingly eating very well (something she had not done for almost  years) . The compassion, care, skill, respect and just basic humanity shown by so many of the team was incredible. A super complex few weeks but they listened well, took my input on board, and adjusted / refined my mum's care based on that. She formed great friends and trust among the team -  I can't thank them enough. She was the referred to St Margaret's where she is now, and again the team supported that transition.
