"Our daughter's care"

About: Paediatrics / Acorn Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

Our daughter was admitted into Musgrove with respiratory concerns. We stayed in Acorn ward for a couple of days, under the stewardship of Caroline and Nicky who were both fantastic with their team of nurses.

Unfortunately her condition deteriorated however and with the help of the brilliant consultants, Dr's and other related staff was intubated and was then sent to Bristol Royal infirmary, a hugely traumatic experience for our family.

We were then back in Musgrove, where again we were brilliantly looked after in Acorn ward and was pleasantly surprised by the number of staff that re-visited our daughter to see how she was getting on.

Throughout our experience, it was evident how passionate and genuine all the staff were. It is incredibly difficult to put into words how grateful me and my wife are to all the staff involved in our daughter's recovery.

Dear virgoyq97,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us via Care Opinion. We are truly sorry to hear how difficult and traumatic this journey has been for your family, and we’re so pleased to know that your daughter is now on the road to recovery.

We are fortunate to have such an incredible team on the Children’s Unit, and Nicky and Caroline are valued members of that team. I will make sure your feedback is shared with them and with the wider Paediatrics team.

Thank you again for sharing this with us. We wish your daughter and your family all the very best for the future.

Kind regards,

Angela Giles
