Doctors app beginning of November. Sent for xrays on back, hip and pelvis. Weren't allowed to do back xray as it wasn't an injury. Referral to Musculoskeletal Team given instructions to call and make an appointment in 10 days. Rang this week as instructed no referral had been made.
Contacted doctors, secretary advised that doctor had been advised against the referral and had made arrangements for physio. At no point was I advised of this decision. Obviously I wasn't happy and received a call later that day with a referral, I now have to wait another 10 day's before making an appointment.
Went for physio today, staff member didnt know why I was there as they only did initial assessments which they told me the doctor had already done. They did carry out a few tests and gave me some exercises to be going on with. I was advised there was a 20 week wait for an appointment with the Musculoskeletal team.
More or less said it might be something I have to live with. I have had issues with my back and hip for several years but the pain has become constant and is now affecting my everyday life. I have put off going to the doctors for exactly this reason.
I left today feeling really down and in considerate pain after having my legs pulled all over the place. There seems to be a lack of understanding on how departments work and a lack of communication, in the middle of all this chaos is a patient in pain.
"Lack of communication and let in pain"
