All my life I have struggled with eating disorders, in 2014 I had to get a stoma which has always been high output.
I have a feeding tube but can eat some normal food, because of this my kidneys don't function properly, which causes all sorts of additional problems.
Recently I had a couple of really bad falls ended up in ICU then high dependency then to ward 2b where I met loads and Lewis and loads of great nurses and doctors. Who all went above and beyond to help with the broken bones, I have lost the control and feeling in my right leg.
When it came to the nutrition side of it, my potassium keeps going sky high, stoma output was like dirty water, I was getting no nutrition out of anything I ate and feed. There really are no words to explain what Lewis (dietitian) did for me, he came to see me every couple of days, sometimes every day and multiple times, trying to solve stoma eating and dehydration which I know was quite a challenge and loads of different calculations, measuring input and output.
He explained every step he took and was taking, even writing stuff down for me cause I kept forgetting. He never gave up was great, didn't judge me for self harm or bringing up everything I ate when I was home.
After over almost 2 and a half months he helped in so many ways with so many different challenges. Even the day I got discharged Lewis came down to the discharge lounge to check everything was good and what was to happen in the future. I have loads of follow ups to come to check things are doing what they should. Also made sure I knew who to contact when I got home.
This is just a short story summary compared to the help I was given from him and all staff members, I could write a book.
I still have lots of recovery and sorting thing out I want to thank them all.
