"My daughters recent surgery"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

My 10 year daughter was recently admitted to Bramble Ward for planned surgery on her ear.

The care she received from start to finish was amazing. She was immediately put at ease by being taken to the play room where the play expert was on hand with advice and reassurance. Every member of staff we came into contact with were so kind and professional. The Surgeon, anaesthetist, all the nurses on the ward and in theatre and recovery all spent time reassuring my daughter and explaining fully, in a way that she understood, what was happening- they all made an anxious day for us very much more manageable. Thank you to you all x

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words about your daughter’s recent stay on Bramble Ward. We are delighted to hear that she felt reassured and supported throughout her surgery, and that the team were able to make what can be an anxious experience much more manageable for both of you.

I will be sure to pass your feedback on to the play specialists, nurses, and the whole team involved, I know they will be thrilled to hear that their care and professionalism made such a positive difference.

Thank you again for your thoughtful message. It means a lot to the team to receive feedback like this.
