In July 2025 our family was subjected to a Threat to Life incident.
I protected my family but the result opened up a fracture in my body and brought back an horrific PTSD breakdown, something I am still recovering from and being around people is now a severe hazard.
The Crisis Team came to our rescue and if it wasn’t for the care and professionalism shown to us I would not be writing this today.
A special mention needs to go out to Lizzie and Joanne who have gone above and beyond in their help given to me and my wife.
They admit Combat PTSD is not their specialty, however this did not show through as they were fantastic.
So from someone who has been at the front line in all my career serving the country, picking up the phone to the Crisis Team was the toughest thing I’ve ever done.
But I am glad I did.
So I say this now to anyone in need of immediate support and care please don’t hesitate to pick up that phone - make that call. This Crisis Team looked after me all the way.
I was a proud, no I’m not talking to anyone about the horrors I’ve seen and dealt with in my career type of guy, but let me say this. That attitude was the wrong thing to say and do.
So reach out and cherish the support you deserve.
