"The care I received was first class"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

12 months ago I was sent to Wigan Infirmary with heavy chest pains. I was relatively quickly seen to and quickly directed to Cardiology.

I was soon attended to and had tests that identified a heart attack. The care I received prior to having a stent fitted was first class. All the nursing staff, catering staff and consultants were informative and supportive.

I was released feeling very optimistic because of the directions from the consultants.

I have been doing all the exercises through NHS Physio and followed by a weekly exercise class at Leigh Sports Village, which have all helped me to lose 2 stones in weight and renewed all my positive thoughts.

Regular check-ups have assisted my recovery and I joined a cardiac support group run by Wigan Cardiology and these monthly get togethers have been informative and inspiring.

I can only offer Wigan Infirmary the most sincerest thanks possible.
