"I should have been scanned, not sent home"

I had suspected sciatica and went to A&E and went as I could barely walk. Although the staff treated me very well and I was seen in by the Dr in about 4 hours which is pretty usual with A&E, I was just sent away with painkillers. and to continue on with Physio! I have since been diagnosed with emergency surgery required on my back.  If I didn't have private healthcare I would not be at this stage and would be looking at a despairing painful future.  I should have been scanned at the hospital not sent home!!
