Specific:
I were part of the NHS Long Covid Group sessions 2025.
Firstly, received my Long Covid work book...
I were relieved to learn from the Information within. That the NHS fully understand this illness.
I felt a sense of being heard and relieved.
This on its own alleviated the stress and anxiety from suffering from this illness.
Moving forward...Group Video session were extremely beneficial as you felt Not Alone, others suffering from same challenges..
Where we could share experiences, become part of our group family...This were a " Life Line" absolutely necessary in my view.
NHS Staff extremely supportive listened to is all, guided us all on our journey
Post Group: Full support from Diane, OT always at hand ...If I or others required her support....Knowing Diane was there were a great part of reassurance..
I would personally thank her.
The Future:
To all reading this.
You may feel your in a difficult place nothings possible life may not be the same...Your worried frightened your going through a grieving process for the Loss of You...How do I support myself...in every way.
However, my personal experience after this Group....Through time with good tools skills support and advice on all. Hence above.
You gain good mindset ....Avoiding external stressors as they can act like triggers.
Don't justify your health to anyone...As this is a inward illness they cannot see.
Just simply advise...Thankyou for your interest in my health...However I prefer not to discuss.
Boundaries, as some people find it difficult to comprehend what Long covid is....Don't exhaust yourself explaining it....Keep life simple balanced
Small steps at a time....Do not over do anything
If people press to know...Send them a long covid link...Stating please refer to..
One day you will say to yourself....I do not think about Long Covid daily (Thinking about it is using energy you do not have) (Trigger) ...This is because you've got to a place where your happy positive less relapses possibly doing things without thinking ....This is the secret ...hence your slowly getting yourself back.....
I would like to add, no matter what point you reach in your journey of recovery...In my view its most important , at all times to keep life simple.
Never ever go back to the old life of over doing things...Including must avoid external stressors as that triggers your nervous system (protect) ....That way you most likely will not relapse in my view.
Personal Note: I presently have had less relapses now ...I feel happy, It got a good handle on this I am on my way back very slowly. ..
Future, I now have ....It will arrive one day.
Never give up, you can get through this...This will take time ...Give it the time it needs I know its frustrating challenging remember you are not alone ...Be kind and good to yourself...Always.
