"Heart attack"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Cardiology Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency Causeway Hospital / Coronary Care/Medical Monitoring Unit

(as the patient),

I experienced severe chest pains and heavy sweating, and drove to A&E in the Causeway Hospital. I went in and said I thought I was having a heart attack, which I was.

The doctors and nurses were wonderful, especially the doctor who looked after me so well, I wish I could remember her name .

I was admitted to Coronary care unit, they were fantastic. The nurses, doctors, cleaners and the ladies doing the food and tea etc.

I was taken to Altnagelvin for Angioplasty and stenting which I’m sure saved my life. Can’t thank everybody enough, especially the nurse who accompanied me and helped put me at ease .

I was re-admitted with low blood pressure where once again I was looked after so well in A&E and coronary care. Thank you to all the staff, forever grateful.
