"Diabetes diagnosis"

About: Omagh Primary Care Complex / Diabetes Services

(as the patient),

I went to get bloods done for an MOT and found out my blood sugars were through the roof, I was called in the next day and there begins my journey.

I started off being treated as Type 2 and had bloods done to see later on if I could be Type 1. I had many medicines changes and finally after a long 2 months I found out I was Type 1.

The Diabetes team of nurses have been a great support to me especially with how up and down my sugars have been. When I need reassurance they are quick to call back, listen, advise and make me feel more confident in my abilities.

This has been a huge life change and it's only just begun, but I know that Briege and everyone will be there and will make sure I am confident in doing my own care.
