"Atrial flutter"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Cardiac Investigation Unit The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department The Ulster Hospital / Ward 5E (Medical cardiology)

(as the patient),

I awoke with racing heart @170 bpm approx. GP advised to get to UHD. Treated with drip in chair and A&E, then a different chair overnight, and then into a bed in 5E when available. Various drugs over the weekend didn't sort the issue, so electric cardio conversion by Dr Hamilton stabilised heart rate . Constant monitoring by nurses of the patches on my chest, constant monitoring of BP and blood tests. Discharged with new meds (explained at length by Pharmacist), and other than the usual delay in the discharge ward  (awaiting new meds) , everything went wonderfully.  Many thanks to all.
